I believe that with our efforts as a community we can help build dreams and help empower youth to build healthier and stronger families.  I believe in financial education, mentoring, and entrepreneurship. I believe in Junior Achievement.

With your dedication, time, and efforts to help raise money for JA's largest fundraising event, the Bowl-A-Thon, anything is possible for these kids and their dreams can become reality.  Just $25 will sponsor one child through the JA program, but every penny counts!

Bowl-A-What?

What is a Bowl-A-Thon you ask? It is a unique opportunity for your company and its employees to support your local Junior Achievement students and have fun doing it. The Bowl-A-Thon process is really quite simple, just follow the following steps:

  1. A Company Coordinator recruits as many Team Captains as possible
  2. Those Team Captains each recruit four bowlers and form five-member Bowl-A-Thon teams
  3. Once the teams have been formed, bowlers begin to raise money
  4. Register to participate in our quick and easy online fundraising program
  5. BOWL!! Enjoy two games of bowling with your teammates

What is My Obligation?

Whether you are a Company Coordinator, Team Captain, or Team Member, you are asked to raise money to support JA programs by collecting pledges from co-workers, clients, friends, or family members. Your personal goal is to raise, collect, and submit $200 by the day of your event to be eligible for terrific individual incentive prizes! Your involvement can help students throughout Los Angeles County strive for success; the more you raise, the more programs we can provide.

Fund-Raising Tips

  • Educate your potential sponsors about JA so they know their pledges are going to a good cause!
  • Make the first pledge on your sponsor sheet significant so others will follow! (Example: Only $25 can sponsor one student)
  • Ask for straight pledges ($5, $10, $20) and collect on the spot!
  • Pledges are tax deductible.
  • Sign up as many sponsors as you can: your co-workers, clients, friends, and family!
  • Ask us (JA) for those cute Schoolhouse Cutouts and sell as many as you can!
  • AIM HIGH and reach for the stars and remember, It’s not Rocket Science.
